Lovely hotel!
We enjoyed our stay at chateau Versailles—it has an old-world charm to it, and we appreciate the attentiveness of the staff. One block from the metro!

Solid 3 star
It's a solid 3 star hotel in beaten up condition. Don't let the name of the hotel fool you - it's not a palace. Breakfast was quite good, surprisingly. Staff at the desk were helpful.

Great hotel at a great location
Great location and a spacious room. I had stayed at this hotel 15 years ago. Back then I had a room on the third floor (small room). This time I had a room on the first floor (double the space). The breakfast is great to have (unfortunately no quiche anymore). The breakfast tables are small. We were three people, and that doesn't fit. Instead of round tables, it would help to have square tables that could get connected. Walking to the old port is a bit far, but there is great public transit.

Overbooked and not ready for guests
My suite was unfit for guests. The phones did not work, the heat did not work, the television did not work until the following morning. I asked for a partial refund and was ignored multiple times. I had been staying there for years. Never again.

The staff was excellent, very helpful. The building was beautiful from the outside but a little bit run down on the inside, though we appreciated the character. Not the cleanest hotel (dirty windows, stained carpet), but the bed seemed clean enough and was comfortable. The street was a bit noisy, but we had a street facing room. Convenient location to the metro, reasonably priced.

4/10 Fair

I was extremely disappointed in my stay at the hotel. The cost of two nights (nearing 900 dollars inclusive of parking, fees and taxes) was borderline robbery. While the location was absolutely perfect and the staff were friendly, the building was tired, the room was small, and they charged an additional two dollars per coffee pod once you’d used the four provided. The fact the sauna was closed for maintenance (and likely had been for a while) was just another example of what was wrong with the hotel. Had it not been for the location, my wife and I would have checked out immediately after checkin.

Warning not worth staying here.
We were not happy with the first room we were given,as the carpets were so filthy. We requested another room. The second room was a mess. The bathroom handle was falling off ,the tiles were broken and missing grout, paint was falling off the ceiling in the shower and the sink tap water pressure so high when you turn it on the first time you get soaked. Main bedroom carpet was stained and the walls were scuffed up tha definitely could use some paint. Will not recommend this hotel at all and will and will never stay there again.
