My reservation was made well in advance of my stay. ON THE DAY OF MY ARRIVAL I called ahead to let the front desk know I would be a late arrival, to confirm my room, and to be sure I was getting a walk in shower as requested at the time of my initial reservation (I'm recovering from hip surgery and cant step in/out of a bathtub yet.) I was told they would have a room with walk in shower ready for me upon arrival. I arrived with my daughter about 930pm. As i was parking, I received a call from the front desk. They needed to discuss an "urgent matter." THEY OVERBOOKED AND BUMPED MY RESERVATION! I went in to the lobby to be met with the associate. She was rude and condescending. She acted like i was inconveniencing THEM. After an hour or so, Tru found me another accommodation in another town and picked up the cost. The other hotel was more of a motel, and definitely not the same value. I was in town for a large competition and most hotels were sold out by the "night of." It was clear why the place i was put- wasnt sold out. It was a place for us to sleep, so we took it. We didnt get checked in until after 11pm because of all the time spent finding another place and the drive time to get there. My daughter missed several hours of sleep for her competition. We were told that BECAUSE WE BOOKED THROUGH HOTELS.COM, they bumped our reservation because it wasnt booked through their own brand! Im hesitant to book through Hotels.com again and getting the same result. Very bad experience.
