I found the hotel to be generally run-down and in need of an overall update, while the bathrooms seemed to have already been updated. The staff are not empowered to provide a quality experience.
The rooms had dirty/marked up walls, the refrigerator was stuck on the coldest setting and froze my food, the AC unit was as loud as a leaf blower, and the overall condition of the furniture was poor. Importantly, I suspected that the linens had not been changed from the previous guest, as they were on inside out and looked rumpled and with use marks (makeup, dirt). I requested they were changed but they were not. You also had to request that your room be cleaned, which wasn't clear until I called to ask why room had not been cleaned. The pool area was run-down and did not inspire confidence in using. The sauna was broken and not usable.
As insult to a strange experience, my personal travel toiletries (costly Aveda products) were also removed/taken from the bathroom when cleaned! I have NEVER had cleaning staff take my things, but this happened here. When I reported this to the front desk, they offered no apology or remedy, and instead put my in charge of tracking down what happened and contacting the housekeeping supervisor myself.
My bill, despite being prearranged and filing the appropriate tax-exempt documentation, was processed incorrectly, requiring an additional 30 minutes to check out.I will NEVER stay at this hotel and will caution anyone else considering it.
