4/10
We just needed an inexpensive place to stay, since it had been raining and we opted to no longer camp. The guy at the front desk when we checked in was far from being friendly; despite my trying to be pleasant, he didnโt even crack a smile. In fact, Iโm not sure he ever even made eye contact.
The guy the next morning at check-out was MUCH friendlier.
We had requested the second floor but were only offered a room on the ground floor. That wasnโt a big deal; but the largest turn-off for me was being greeted by a cockroach in the bathroom! Thatโs never happened to me in a hotel before and definitely made me wish we had chosen one of the other nearby also-inexpensive hotels instead. Oh well. We were tired and my husband just killed the roach and flushed it.
The bed was very comfortable. I also look for bedbugs and did not see any signs of them (that was a relief), but underneath the chair cushion was so dirty that I didnโt even dare sit on the chair while we were in the room.
There was also breakfast โ waffles, cerealโฆ Overall, it met our needs for a comfortable bed and roof over our heads. It was better than staying in a tent! But personally I donโt think Iโd stay again.
