Our recent stay at the Ocean Maya Royale with a group of ten from June 14th to 21st was a mixed experience that left us feeling somewhat disappointed.Upon arrival, the check-in process was lacking. There was no orientation about the resort, which left us confused about where to book dinners at the specialty restaurants, the entertainment schedule, and even how to get our luggage to our rooms. Unlike other resorts we've visited, there was no assistance with our bags, which felt quite odd.The first night, we dined at the buffet and were disheartened by the limited and unusual food options. The next day, I went to the lobby around 1 PM to inquire about restaurant bookings. I visited the "privilege" office, where I was informed it was too late to make reservations. Despite expressing our frustrations about the lack of guidance, we were told that someone in our party should have been informed about the booking process. Unfortunately, my friendโs mom had to take charge, and despite her efforts to secure dinner reservations each morning, our options were severely limited to either 6 PM or 9 PM due to our group size.On Friday, we made a reservation for the Mexican restaurant at 9 PM. However, later that evening, my husband and I decided not to go because we were tired. When my friend's mom checked to see if they could get in earlier, they had no reservation for our party at all, leaving them scrambling to find dinner at the buffet instead.
