On arrival at the hotel, we were oiffered a glass of prosecco at check in and then upgraded to a superior room This was a break to celebrate our ruby wedding, although I had not informed the hotel, so this came as a pleasant surprise. The room was huge with a moden decor and nice furnishings. The bathroom was spacious and well appointed, There were robes and slippers in the wardrobe for use and two balconies, one with a partial sea view and the other huge balcony with its own hot tub and furniture. The bed was probably the largest and most comfortable I have slept on. All staff were helpful, smart and polite and the breakfast buffet was again the best I have seen, with a tremendous choice of
food to suit all tastes. The location was excellent, being right across the harbour from Valletta and within 100 metres of the ferry. Beautiful views of Valletta at night. The hotel is in a perfect location, being in an area with nice restaurants, bars and shops, so plenty of choice. It is also a few minutes away from Valletta with all its history and culture. We had a fantastic stay at the Barcelo and it has everything you could want from a resort hotel. Thank you for making our trip so special.
