I booked a room for 6 nights. I was immediately uncomfortable because there were people loitering in the parking lot who didn’t seem like they were guests. My room had a strong musty smell. I went to close the curtains and they were covered in mildew or mold. There were also glasses left from a previous guest. It was later in the night, so I decided to stick it out for the night & check out the next morning to go elsewhere. I was at the front desk around 8 am, and the staff member told me she couldn’t help me because I had booked through hotels.com. Hotels.com tried to help, but she told them she couldn’t do anything because her manager wasn’t there. She said he’d be there at 4 and I could talk to him then. I had an all day event, so I arrived at around 4:15 only to find out from the different staff who was there, that the manager had actually LEFT at 4. She contacted him, and he said to go ahead and change my booking. I’m not sure why she could do that but not the lady who had been there in the morning! Then I was told I would still have to be charged for 2 nights since it was after 11 am checkout. I said- but I tried to checkout at 8 am to avoid that! No one cared about that so I was forced to stay another night. When I was preparing to leave my room the next morning, a bed bug crawled over the mattress! I told them at check out and the manager told her to partially refund the night. It should have been the whole night, in my opinion! Breakfast was also very disappointing
