Maca Bana is a compound of villas of various colors and sizes. We stayed in Mango, a two bedroom, two bath villa and it was perfect for our needs. We had a full size kitchen and the fridge was already filled with breakfast items, eggs, bacon, bread, yogurt, orange juice and milk. For our first evening there, we opted to dine out at The Aquarium, the restaurant at the bottom of the property. It is a steep driveway down to the restaurant so you will get a bit of a workout especially when coming back up. The food was average, service was very good and the location is a few steps from the beach.
Our bedrooms were spacious and allowed us to stretch out and relax. The deck surrounding the villa was extraordinary, offering us a beautiful view of the ocean every day. The pool was just a walk away from the villa.
The beach is accessible through The Aquarium restaurant and is a quiet stretch of sand.
This was a fantastic stay and made so much better with excellent assistance from Joanne, who runs the resort. She connected us with a trustworthy taxi driver who took us to various spots on the island. Joanne also set us up with a fantastic masseuse for our last day. While it rained outside, we each enjoyed a massage.
Besides Joanne, we were treated so well by everyone on staff and we could not have asked for a better way to celebrate our anniversary but more importantly, help our daughter move into SGU. We will be coming back here.
