Having stayed at this hotel once before, I was hoping for another nice experience. Unfortunately, a few things went wrong for us, starting with a recurring fire alarm the first night, causing us to wake up several times and finally moving rooms at 4:50am. We were exhausted that first day in London. The breakfast, that I remember from last year including a little fruit bowl, croissant and juice shot, was pared back to just the dish ordered. Those dishes were just OK. The includee black coffee was watery and cold. Service was inattentive. We booked the sauna, but since no one told us that we needed to go to reception at the start time; we waited downstairs. Eventually I went up to ask someone, and they helped, but hadn’t turned the sauna on even though we had booked it, so it was cold for the first 25 minutes of our free hour. We also found the staff to be unapologetic about our fire alarm experience, offering nothing to better the situation. They did accommodate our request for a 1 hour delayed checkout.
