It is unfathomable that an entire hotel does not have television access for nearly a week. Apparently they do not routinely check the condition of equipment related to their TV access and weather took its toll, beyond just a single cable, but rather catastrophic failure such that spare parts were unavailable over a time scale that affected hundreds of clients over at least a 4-day period. In return, we received tickets for free drinks every evening, and that was appreciated. But for a hotel to lose complete access to TV over the US election period was a hardship for many. Two persons at the front desk tried to tell me that the fog caused the TV failure -- obviously they have no background in science. The hotel should have been truthful from the start. Yes, the weather was involved and yes the sun eventually rotted their equipment, but that's why such equipment should be routinely checked and replaced. That is how catastrophic failures are avoided.
