Great place to stay with grwt facilities. Lovely spacious room and easy check in. The only thing was that the check out time was incorrect on Expedia to the actual check out time so had to get out of the room earlier than planned.

Charming village pub

This is a charming pub and hotel that is perfect for visiting North Yorkshire. The owners are friendly and welcoming, the food is good and the room was comfortable and warm. One minor complaint- in our room the water pressure for the shower was very low.

Ye old red lion

The hotel was friendly , clean and food was excellent. Our room was in a chalet which again was clean and comfortable. Our dinner was excellent although where we were sitting was not very warm but it was snowing outside and with people coming in and out the cold air was getting in.

Lovely location and friendly staff

I only stayed one night, arrived at 10pm and left at 05:00 so didn’t eat there. The staff were friendly and helpful and the accommodation was fine. Good value for money

It was comfortable for the night, staff were pleasant and helpful. Diner and breakfast were very good. Sound insulation between two rooms was very poor - we could clearly hear conversations whilst they had to put up with my snoring I'd imagine.

Average

Pub very very pleasant and good food although Hotel staff did not advise last serving for evening food was 20:00pm. I just got in in time. The food however was very good. Rooms are very basic and not very sound proof, hear all noise from adjoining rooms

Good accommodation, awful breakfast service.

Accommodation was comfy and worth the amount paid. The person on the phone before arrival had been helpful. However, the service for breakfast the following day was awful. I had to go into the kitchen myself to speak to the chef as we couldn’t find the person who had previously been there to take orders. When they did arrive, they could not have seemed less interested in being there. No smile and not even basic politeness. When they brought the breakfast, which was mediocre, I asked if there was some cutlery as all that had been set out on the table was already used. They pointed at at nearby table which is as not occupied and told me there was some there and walked off.

LOVELY, PUB WAS GETTING VERY BUSY AT 6 O CLOCK TEA-TIME WHICH INDICATED HOW POPULAR IT IS. PRETTY OUTDOOR AREA WITH PLANTS AND FISH WAS BUZZING YET PEACEFUL FOR A FAMILY EVENING, THE ACCOMMODATION WAS SET IN THE GARDENS TO THE REAR OF THE PUB. MY BRICK BUILT B & B CHALET WAS WARM AND COMFORTABLE WITH ALL THAT I NEEDED, EVEN THE ALARM WAS PROVIDED BY THE NEXT DOOR COCKEREL ! I WAS TOLD OF RENOVATIONS TO BE DONE SOON. IN MY OPINION JUST A FEW ODD JOBS ARE NEEDED DUE TO CARELESS GUESTS. VERY QUIET COUNTRYSIDE LOCATION AND I WOULD LOVE TO RETURN FOR A LONGER BREAK. THANKYOU X

Friendly but Tired

Staff were friendly and helpful but the pub is rather tired and it shows. Rooms were clean and comfortable but paintwork was shabby and our bathroom door stuck - needed both of us to get it open again!! The breakfast was fine - well cooked and good quality, however, the dining room despearately needs improvement. The carpet in particular looks like it has been down for decades - it looks thoroughly grubby and even distracting!! Shame as the pub has a lot going for it.
