Detailed, honest and objective review below. I stayed for 4 nights in October 2024.
Firstly, I’d say this is a 4 star hotel, not a 5 star hotel. As you’ll see from my review, I enjoyed the stay, but there are a number of elements I’d consider make this hotel actually 4 star.
1) Restrictions - 5 star hotels are not restrictive in nature. For example, I attempted to order a portion of fries from room service and received a “no.” The hotel can’t get newspapers having asked and the evening restaurant menu is a seven course tasting menu, with no other option.
2) The room - 5 star hotels, in my view must be immaculate when it comes to cleanliness. Don’t get me wrong, the room itself was clean and tidy, but the rainfall shower head had a notable amount of limescale on, making the jets shoot in all different directions. The hand held shower head was also split.
3) Check-out - the hotel has no facility or flexibility for late check-out. Santorini airport has limited flights, meaning if you have an evening flight, you can only sit by the pool or in the restaurant (no showers or separate room etc). With a lack of shade, this is quite the ask for those awaiting flights!
4) Amenities - usage of the spa carries a charge of 25 euro per person per hour and must be booked. The gym must also be booked but is free. One might expect the space, at least for a short slot, to be included in the price. The gym is very good itself.
Very good views and staff! Recommended to all.
