More worn than photos suggested. Mattresses pretty worn out.

The Governors Inn is a very special place for us because we were married there and is still probably a great place to get hitched. The people are super friendly and great so why did i give it 2 stars? We recently stayed there for our 11 year anniversary and the bed was the absolute worst. I felt like I was sleeping in my grandmas spare bedroom in the 80s. The bed is like sleeping on a box spring and the sheets/covers were pretty gross. It is ridiculuous that these beds havent been upgraded in a very long time. I hope they change this, it's a small investment and would make a very big difference. Till then I won't be back.

Love the Governors Inn our only complaint is the beds just arenโt that comfortable, better than last time, but not the best still. Carriage house is cute but shower pressure was awful
Restaurant & bar are fantastic & canโt say enough good things about staff !
Will go back but stay in different room !

The Governor's Inn is a 100 year old building that has gone through several changes over the years. It's in need of renovation, which the owner, from what I can see is working to get the place ship-shape. The staff & services though make up for any inconvenience. The restaurant, bar & music venues are first rate. People from all around the area stop by to enjoy. There is no elevator, however the staff, at no prompting are willing to help with your luggage.Everything considered, it's a good value. There is a lot of history at the Governor's Inn.

The people were super nice from when you walked in until you left. Very helpful. We ate dinner in the Steak restaurant/Pub and it was fantastic! Food is great! We had a large suite type room and it was very large and had furnishings but the tv was way to small to see from across the large room. The bathroom fixtures were loose and coming off but the biggest think was it was 32 degrees out and there was no heat. They had this small fan type heater that we had on high the whole time and it was so cold I would not even shower. We had told them it was cold prior to dinner and she said that she would see if they could turn the heat up.... that didn't happen.
But otherwise, I would recommend the restaurant and the hotel to anyone who was going to this area, but just don't go when its cold out! I did see a large ac in the closet so it would probably cool the room (if they put it in-lol) The people made up for the lack of heat with their warm friendly attitudes! They did have someone with a large dog in the room down the hall also, which was weird to me????

A really nice stay in an historic mansion. The rooms are good sized with a comfortable bed and blackout curtains which was nice. The on site restaurant was great for drinks and dinner. Would definitely recommend.

This is a lovely hotel with charming rooms!! The staff are amazing and welcoming. While we live quite far from here, we are thinking it would be worth the travel from Texas back to The Governors Inn just so we could spend more time here. First class all the way!!!

Iโve stayed here multiple times. Itโs an older property which hasnโt quite been updated with modern features such as ample outlets and dated fixtures, but itโs a pleasant place to stay. It sort of has antique charm. Staff are friendly and thereโs restaurant in the main building. Itโs also walked to the center of town for more restaurants, bars, and shopping.
