We chose to stay at The Franklin for our wedding, and despite the friendliness of the staff, there were a few instances where the hotel did not meet expectations.
Firstly, the lack of option to check-in early despite advance notice was somewhat inconvenient, secondly my partner was promised a Prosecco and chocolate board on arrival, but there was no Prosecco. Thirdly, the sound on the floor above us was constant and led us to believe that we were sleeping beneath a hallway with constant footfall. This resulted in an extremely tired bride the next day. None of it felt particularly “luxury” aside from the nice toiletries, but having stayed in many other luxury hotels we will not be returning in a hurry. It’s a shame as they really ought to create memorable experiences for important life events.
