8/10 Very Good

Can't get much closer to the beauty of Mt. Hood
It was amazing to be able to step right out of the hotel onto the trails. The big lobby, main seating area was also a great place to hang out, though it got a little crowded at times. It was nice to have dining options, from the reasonabl-priced cafe to the more expensive buffet. Next time we'll try to book soon enough to get an ensuite bathroom, because our room was a bit small and it was a bit inconvenient to have to go down the hall to the bathroom in the middle of the night (though they did provide bathrobes). Bring bath shoes or flipflops if you plan to use the communal showers. All that said, I would come back (but book early enough to get an en-suite bathroom).

Great hotel. We booked a twin room which was quite small. Aside from very small room, no complaints. Would stay here again.

Plus: Great location, a few steps from the popular Skyline Loop trailhead, the building has a very long history. Minus: For almost $300 a night, the guest room is very small and there is no microwave or coffee in the room, not even a microwave in public place for guests to use.

Absolutely loved staying at Paradise Inn! Yes it’s expensive to stay especially with the private bathroom but it’s worth every penny.

This is the best choice you have around Paradise area, if you want to do an overnight trip to Mount Rainier. Yeah, it is expensive, of course. The room is clean, but tiny. We didn't dine in the restaurant on site, since the reviews are so bad. We brought our own food, got beer, tea and coffee from the cafe (yes, there is a cafe where you can get drinks). We had a quiet and peaceful time sitting on the porch with mountain view. A pianist played piano in the lobby which added the charm.

Property is well-kept, considering it was built in the early 1900's. Staff courtesy and efficiency is excellent. Dining room is impressive. Dining menu needs to change.

We stayed in the annex… very clean room and comfortable. Also very quiet. Very friendly staff, good food and accommodating service. Loved the daily wood fires and the relaxing atmosphere of the ‘wandering’ bartender! Of course, having the mountain ‘out’’ for display helped immensely!

2/10 Poor

This was clearly a terrible interaction with Expedia, not the hotel... After making the reservation our family experienced a totally unexpected & tragic death necessitating a change in our plans...we initially requested a change in the reservation: On 5.27 "Jasmine" said Expedia was still checking our request with the hotel... On 5/29 "Uttal S" said the hotel refused our request for the change... On 5/30 "Zainab" wrote to say, even though we requested a change due to the death in our family, and it was refused, our original reservation was still good! We requested a cancellation several times & received no response from Expedia...we did this BEFORE the property's cancellation deadline, a partial refund being due, & we never heard from Expedia again... We called the property directly to cancel but were told the only way we could cancel was through Expedia!...there were no notations to be found by the customer service rep that Expedia had contacted them requesting the change; they were apologetic but said we were "stuck with Expedia"... We reached out to them several more times before the property's cancellation deadline while juggling our family situation & never received a response back... And that is how Expedia stole $326.65 of our money

Could not adjust the temp in the room. Got way too hot at night. It was low 30s so cool to open a window, but we were sweating sleeping.:(

I liked and needed the luggage assistance on two flights of stairs. The piano player was great. The room was small but very charming.
