Wonderful retreat
Lovely respite. Comfortable cottage with three beds (two bedrooms) and one bathroom, plus view of a picturesque pastoral scene: a field of green grass, white fence, a friendly dog who politely asks to play ball if you like (and leaves you alone if you donโt), and the occasional mooing of the cows in the distance.
Thereโs WiFi in the house if you need it (no WiFi in cottages) but itโs the kind of place where itโs a good idea to unplug.
I enjoyed making a cup of coffee first thing in the morning, opening the door and listening to the birdsong and rustle of the wind in the leaves.
Itโs a bit of a drive to central Williamsburg, (with a current construction traffic along the way) but we found it was fine. Itโs mostly rolling hills and green trees, with a glimpse of bike paths peeking out of the forest. The drive serves as a liminal space, moving you from the busyness of the day to the peaceful rest at the end.
