Location was excellent. Didnt like that there is no one running a front desk at the property and had a small hiccup with getting into the hotel from the street initially. Room was clean, a bit outdated but we overall enjoyed our stay.

Location is great but access to the apartment is creepy. You go through what seems to be a defunct restaurant and no one is around. The door to our balcony didn’t lock. Room was TINY. Wouldn’t recommend for female travelers. It was kind of unsettling.

Lovely room - full kitchen , TV, great location- the only problem was the water smelled and tasted like eggs and the downstairs entrance smelled like trash unfortunately.

Convenient for sight seeing and shopping in downtown Reykjavik. No dedicated parking for the hotel but there was parking on nearby streets for a fee.

The street was busy and quite loud at times. The room was great, clean and big enough for 2 people. The wi-fi was not great for working remotely. When I had an issue with the door code, the intercom at the entrance called for help and my issue was resolved quickly. Didn't talk to any staff on site (nor saw anyone).

This was a great location in Reykjavik - close to shopping and dining. The room was clean and a good size. My only complaint is that there isn’t a lobby to store your luggage if you arrive before check in time.

4/10 Fair

I would not recommend this property. Checking in was difficult, we did not get the check-in information 24 hours before check-in despite what is advertised. So we had to use the doorbell phone to get the door code to enter the property. Fortunately, the person on the other end of the line was kind and helpful. Additionally, though the room looked nice superficially, the shower had mold on the grout and the water stank like sewage (we stayed at other places in Reykjavik and it was not an issue anywhere else). Also, the room we had was one of the ones where you have to walk through the restaurant to get to your room, thus the smell of food is always present and it is a bit awkward to walk through the restaurant. Between the stress of trying to enter the property and the lack of cleanliness, book a different property, this one is not worth it.

Nice big clean rooms. Right on the Main Street.
Nice small hotel above a restaurant. They will give you lock code to enter. No front desk for check in and check out but still they try their best to accommodate you. Big rooms. Good location with lots of dining and shopping options nearby.

Affordable hotel in a good location
Hotel Vera, was very affordable and right in the heart of the shopping district. It was very clean and quiet. The only two drawbacks I would say were you had to go through a restaurant to get to the rooms, but we had a combination to the door so that wasn't too bad and our room did not have a view, which was fine. I can really recommend this hotel and will stay there again on my next trip to Iceland.
