Clean but service was terrible
We stayed at the cottages. It was very spacious and clean. Unfortunately, our room was not ready at check-in, although the staff was aware we were on the property and waiting, it was an hour after check in before the room was ready. We were not compensated in any way or even offered much of an apology. The morning that we were scheduled to check out our water was turned off at 6am, could not shower, brush our teeth or even flush the toilet. Additionally, an alarm in the room went off at 6:15am the morning we were due to checkout that we did not set and had not gone off any of the other two mornings we were there. We also tried to check out as instructed by calling the front desk and the person kept answering the phone and saying they couldn’t hear me and hanging up, this happened 3 times.

37 Year Anniversary
Had an issue when we arrived…evidently the resort had not received our reservation from hotels.com. So we had to call and were on the phone for 20 minutes during our anniversary dinner, trying to figure out what went wrong. Once Hotel.com sent our reservation, all was great from then on. Really enjoyed our stay.

My experience at the lodge was average at best. It was not an enjoyable experience! The front lodge registration staff refused to honor the $30 resort fee as written in their own document, and they moved forward in overcharging me with the $40 daily resort fees plus taxes, the same amount that is charged for living accommodations in log cabins and villas. A dispute of charges claim was submitted; however, I was forced to wait for 2 days for the return of the lodge manager to review the dispute. It was a painful experience before reaching a reimbursement amount. As far as the lodge room, it was average. I loved the butterflies and the birds' presentation.

Noise airconditioner
Ot was nit a peak season so we were relaxed and enjoyed our sencond visit. Most of things were good but airconditioner unit was noise and it bothered our confort sleep. Also all pillows are firm and thick to me so I am thinking to bring my own pillow next time.

This place is awesome. The hotel itself is brilliant. Room was amazing, plenty of space, clean and well appointed. The resort has amazing woodland walks, great pool, good dining options and plenty of lakes and a beach. Would highly recommend

8/10 Very Good

Overall, this is a wonderful lodge, with two very good restaurants and excellent outdoor activities. Loved that the garden admission was included in the price. Loved the beautiful back patio, balcony, parking and that the beach was just down the hill. It had a coffee maker ; no microwave. It would be helpful for front desk (or garden entrance gate attendants) to explain about the roads in the garden that are only accessible with a resident pass and better road signage for Exit. (especially around Carson’s Garden). The tiny yellow pass icons on the garden map were not apparent to me until after arriving at dead ends and having to stop and examine the map more closely.
