We stayed at this hotel when it was Country Inns and Suites and were favorably impressed. Our expectations were for a cozy stay.
The road sign stated that the hotel was The Duluth Inn (and Suites.) Inside, the hotel claimed to be Sleep Inn, Duluth.
I reserved the room with a credit card, but did not pre-pay. My card was not requested at check in, or check out. So that had to be resolved later.
Several days dust was on the stairway.
The remodeling is incomplete. A chair was missing from the room. The two square frigs had no freezer, so drinks could not be kept cool for our day trips. One frig was in an enclosed cabinet. That frig will fail soon.
Single ply toilet paper required extra long pieces to do the job. Cheap, not just house brand, breakfast food was inedible. The eggs and bacon were good according to my partner.
Our SE corner room was near an outdoor security light so bright that curtains had to be tightly closed. Those curtains did not dampen the sound of at least three freight trains passing within 75 feet of our room each night. Intuiting that the back of the hotel would be quieter than the highway side (the west side of the hotel) is an error; but we had no choice of room.
Finally, there is a notice that housekeeping is available during a stay on request. We understood that full bed making/linen replacement/vacuuming would not be done.
We were surprised the small trash bins were not emptied; the accumulated trash was inhospitable.
