Terrible experience

When we booked the hotel for our National wrestling tournament, there was no mention of the hotel being under construction. There was ONE elevator available for a completely booked hotel and no access to stairs. In addition, during our check-in several guests came down with different problems; double booked rooms, fire detectors going off constantly, etc. The breakfast was served in an old room that they took all the furniture out of and put tables and chairs in on the 2nd floor and was also terrible. I went down to the front desk to ask for towels, since our room only had 2, and they never brought any. I even offered to take them up so they didn't have to deliver them. The front desk insisted that housekeeping would deliver them. Since it was a busy weekend for hotels in the area, we were stuck at the La Quinta and had no other options.

Nice hotel

The hotel was comfortable, the room was beautifully redone, bathroom was very nice, furnishing were all new and good quality. The room was great. It’s a dog friendly hotel which worked out well for us, plenty of area to walk your dog. There is major renovation happening at the hotel, seems like it’s been under renovation for years with not much progress. The lobby, what should be a bar/restaurant, just all torn up. Only 1 elevator is working, so if you are on an upper floor be prepared to wait. The breakfast was very good, selection of hot and cold items. Overall, pleased, will stay there again.

When we arrived we realized the hotel was under construction. The weight room was shut down and the pool was not open at the time of arrival. Police were called to the hotel due to a customer and employee disagreement which had our kids concerned. The breakfast room had garbage and opened butter and jelly everywhere in front of the waffle machines. There was absolutely not hot water in our two days there to get a shower. The pool did eventually open during our stay. The hotel reaked of marijuana. When we asked for extra towels bc we were given 2 for our 5 person stay we received small pool towels. The staircase was not able to be used which is a huge safety issue. Only one entrance due to the renovations also a concern if there was a fire to take place. Staff were very friendly and understood frustrations.

Avoid this property

I ended up not staying. From the moment I arrived I felt like the environment was unclean and shady. I realize hotels have no control over their clientele so can't fault the hotel for that. Available parking was about 300 yards from the actual hotel and very desolate, felt unsafe, lobby and surrounding areas were under construction, lobby smelled of cigarettes and marijuana. I felt that me and my vehicle would be unsafe staying there so I lost my money(non-refundable reservation) and went and stayed elsewhere.

Don’t stay there!!!

The place was dirty, and was under construction, very loud and everything setting everywhere, and it smelled so bad of marijuana, it was unreal, was not happy with that and couldn’t get money back either. The pool didn’t work, the hot tub didn’t work, and the weight room was closed, and so was the restaurant,

Okay hotel for a 1 night stay

Some good things here including the beds and the shower. Some not so good things were the first floor under construction and terrible drainage in the parking lot (it was pouring when we arrived and had to walk through deep water). And they couldn't find my reservation to check out even though we were checked in the night before and had slept in the room.

Renovations are taking forever!

Our room was clean and comfortable and I think recently renovated with much better shower for mobility challenged people! The breakfast was nice but hard to find as the facility was still under renovations since our last visit a few years ago so it was in a 2nd floor room. Breakfast was from 6 to 9 but was unattended so 2 mornings at 8 there was no coffee, (even after calling front desk and asking for someone to fis issue) 1 morning no potatoes, and every morning very unsanitary as no one was cleaning tables or food area. Same gigantic pot hole in back parking area as last visit a few years ago.

The new upgrades were very nice. I loved the shower. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable. Though I was told that yours was a "smoke-free" hotel, the smell of marijuana was overpowering on the fourth floor. The ice machine on the fourth floor was not working.

Horrible experience.

The entire experience was dreadful. We didn’t have a room assigned when we arrived and the property was “sold out” Thankfully someone else checking in was accommodating enough to take the one king room available and give us their double room for our party of 4. Upon arriving at 10:30pm we found a room covered in filth and ants. The front desk attendant was incredibly kind and apologetic but I had to scrub the room myself. After three bucket dumps, the floor was still disgusting. I finally gave up and decided it was clean enough to walk across and the ants were dead. The next morning I asked for the room to be cleaned and to speak with a manager. When we returned hours later, the room was not cleaned, only tidied as the walls still had dirt and what looked like fecal matter smeared on them. As of this review and a week later with a phone call daily to the property, the manager April has yet to call me back to address any of this.

Creepy 😱

Not so good. Spotty hot water. Poor security. Anybody could walk in without a key. Room numbers on post it notes. Breakfast not complete during time indicated. No phone or clock in room. Pot holes in driveway leading to parking lot. Graffiti in elevator.

I loved how wonderful and professional that staff was to me. I did not like that the hotel advertised a restaurant and bar, There was no way to get to the 2nd floor because it was being renovated. My room was listed as renovated but there was old, dirty carpet in my room, and the heating system was very noisy that I got very little sleep. The shower was positioned that I had to actually get in the shower to turn on the water - there was no way to stand outside of the shower to test the water temperature before getting in. It was just a very disappointing experience, and I would never, ever recommend nor stay at ANY La Quinta hotels ever.

Slow renovations

This is a nice hotel in a long process of refurbishing. We never had hot water in the shower, there was no working ice machines, and there was no breakfast buffet (snack sacks instead). This hotel is in a nice walking distance location to downtown Salisbury. We keep staying here. and the hotel gradually getting better.
