I booked two nights at the Sleep Inn Beaufort to take a mini trip to Hunting Island. Check in was easy and the desk clerk let us know the pool closed at dark (no time given) and opened again at 8am. When we got to our room the first thing we noticed was the smell. It smelled of mildew/mold and overall just dirty. We opened the window to air it out and just noting here that there was no screen. May be a concern for those traveling with young children. We noticed several mystery stains on the carpet and upon closer inspection we did find several (dead) bugs. We pulled back the covers on the bed and from the top of the comforter to the bottom was BLACK with mold/ mildew. A bit of honesty- Iโm not sure how to differentiate between the two. Only that there were huge splotches of black covering the entirety of the bedding. Most likely causing the smell in the room. The lamp beside it also had black splotches on the shade. We could not stay in that room. I informed the clerk up front of our findings and he did switch our room. To the one next door.. so if Room 123 has bugs itโs only fair to assume 121 will as well. Plot twist- it did. I was not prepared to pay for another hotel and since 121 didnโt have the obvious mold we just had to tough it out. We stayed gone as much as we could. I did not see bad reviews when I booked but Iโm hoping people do see this one and make a better choice then I did when staying in Beaufort.

Room was not very clean. Toilet had not been cleaned in quite a while. The shower was missing one of its windows by the door so my son called it an "Open Air" shower. Some of the breakfast items were undercooked. The entire hotel is in desperate need of a remodel.

The room was good, always felt very sticky humid. The hotel and room had a musty smell to them. The pillows also had the slightly musty smell. Overall, a good stay. The bed was comfortable, accomodations were ample. Check in and check out were seamless. 4 out of 5 stars Overall

I loved the staff. They were friendly. And though the room wasn't quite as clean as I would've liked, everything else was superb - the free breakfast was a REAL breakfast, the little pool out back, and the pillows. THE PILLOWS were perfection. Thank you!

The workers are so friendly! You can telk they work really hard and the view is anazing. Also its walking distance to most food places, I love that you get fresh towels and trash change EOD too. The beds are pretty comfy too. Hinestly though the mini products you get in the rooms smell sooooo nice. Definitely give this place a try.

Bad service with a side of bed bugs
I got bit by a bedbug. i went down to the lobby and Spoke to Tammy about my need to switch rooms and showed the pics and video. She told me that she was puttin me in A room far away from the room I was in. it had an odor but at 1 am we were tired and just needed rest I sprayed Lysol and fabreeze. We checked the mattress and it was dirty. Im spoke to Mike the hotel manager when I got back to the hotel around 4 PM and he stated that he did not see anything when he went to the room. I then showed him the pictures and the video. He asked me if I wanted to check out from the hotel for the night I explain to him that I was there for my sonโs graduation. I said we were put into another room, but the mattress was dirty. I even showed him the pictures and explained to him that I was not trying to cause a stir at his hotel but this is not right.He did not even offer to move us into another room. He just stated that he would see what he could do as far as compensation from the first night. Most likely he got it from Sr. I checked out today, April 25 around 7:15 AM and was not told of any conversation at all. I received a call from Mike around 9 AM as I was attending my sonโs graduation. I returned his call about 10:30 AM and he told me that I was going to be compensated with 50% off of the room for the first night. I explained to him that this was not acceptable with everything that we had endured. I even expressed to him that he didnโt even offer to help with anything to help
