Hotel okay but watch the fine print
It’s an older hotel and looks it. It was clean enough, especially for a hotel that accepts pets. My biggest complaint is that after carefully searching hotels in the city that were “pet friendly”, then finding one that accepts a bigger dog, we received a precheck-in email that confused and upset me. I’m not sure if it was through the hotels.com or the hotel itself, but there was a specific clause that said we would be charged $250 if a pet was in our room. I tried to call the hotel to clarify and was told they do allow pets. But when I tried to ask about the emailed form I received specifically saying I would get charged $250, communication broke down or something and it seems like he basically hung up on me. I tried to find another number to call but couldn’t. I called the next morning and got the same guy, so I asked to speak to a manager. I honestly don’t know what he said exactly but I guess there was no one else to speak with. Since it was too late to cancel, we drove to the hotel hoping it would not be an issue. It was not. However, people do need to be aware to always look when there is an asterisk because they do charge $20 per pet. We had no issue with this and understand, but don’t put that information using an asterisk. Just spell it out in the reservation. I’m still not sure if the pre-check in form was emailed from the hotel itself or hotels.com but it caused a lot of confusion and stress. I’m also a little annoyed at the number of emails now flooding my inbox

Uncomfortable bed in a Smokey environment
The sign behind checkin desk stated that the hotel was 100% Nonsmoking. As soon as we walked into the room, we smelled cigarette smoke coming through the walls. They did offer to move us but it was 11:00 PM and we were exhausted from a long trip so we said we would stay. Then the king sized bed was on a steel frame that was totally uncomfortable. We stayed at a Baymont the night before in Clarksville, Tennessee and had a great experience which was why I chose Baymont the second night. Won’t take that for granted again.

The overhead light above the sink outside the bathroom would not come on and the toliet was not secure to the floor very well at all. I would recommend dont stay there the service is horrible.

Arrived early and no one at desk, used phone which could not understand. Asked about early check in. Said it would cost $40. I said we would just leave car and come back later to check in (going somewhere with friends). Told couldn’t leave car if not staying at hotel. Said I have a reservation for tonight and told can’t leave car. I paid early check in then they didn’t even get my vehicle information. Very sad!

Bugs
The first room we were given, we found a but crawling up the wall by the door. Then my daughter opened up the mini frig and another bug scurried out and up the side of the frig. We requested a new room, and also took the bug to the front desk as proof. The pool was closed and windows covered. The floors looked like they haven't seen a vacuum in months. There was a straw wrapper clearly visible between dresser and mini frig.

Probably awesome 20 years ago…
The front desk attendant’s English was hard to understand. We could not ask for extra towels. The towels are super thin. The furniture was stained and dirty. The doors and fixtures were beat up. This is not a 3 star property.

Lobby was super clean. Room was clean, but run down, the travel size and full size shampoos and conditioner were nearly empty upon arrival. Very hard and uncomfortable bed. Like a RV 3 inch mattress over plywood. Sheets and blankets smelled heavily of bleach, created headaches daily

Where do I start? The good. Microwave, fridge, TV and wi-fi were fine. Fridge was cold and microwave clean. That’s about where it ends. The bathroom…walls were cracked, toilet was so old it had rust stains and the shower faucets were barely attached. You had to hunt to hunt for the right shower handle location to get hot water it was so loose. The shower head was red colored from either rust or being so old, not sure. The semi-circle shower rod was barley attached to the wall on each end so it sagged so horrible, that shower curtain just hung in the middle and left two feet on each end letting water to escape and depriving you of any privacy. I guess someone will need to slip and hit their head on the toilet and sue this company before they care at all. Didn’t find out until my last morning there that not only did one of the three pillows have old dried blood on it…the bed sheet did too. I almost puked and couldn’t believe I slept in that bed all weekend. Cleaning service just folded and replaced the towels, didn’t make bed or clean bathroom counter…can’t believe Wyndham is paying someone for that? Spend the extra $20 a night and stay somewhere nicer!

There were little bugs in the bed. The toilet only flushed if you held the handle down. Bathroom door was dirty.

Excellent service. Bed was so uncomfortable. Felt the springs and was load when you moved. Bathroom had some water damage at some point and looked like it was finished by preschoolers.

Disappointed
Room was clean. Unfortunately they do not have walk in showers or raised toilets for handicapped customers. Room did not have a coffee maker. The coffee offered at breakfast did not have large lids for the cups and did not offer artificial sweeteners.
