Look, it's an old hotel without many updates. The rugs have faded, the heating system is from the 1900s, and all the staff are union, so what can you expect? A cockroach? Yes. Its NYC and they are everywhere. A missing safe? Air-conditioning still in the window in subfreezing temps? Only one working elevator? An odd stationary bicycle in a room? Yes to all. Oh and the fire department is on the corner, so sirens until 3am are common. But, the location. Its so close to everything! The beds were comfortable too. I mean, how much time do you spend in your hotel anyway? They are planning a big reno, yhe dates of which we heard varied from next month to next year, but they definitely should get to it because 3 stars is generous at this point. Im surprised hotels.com has allowed them to stay on their site.
