RUDE - Go elsewhere
We prepaid our room prior to our trip. When we arrived, we were confronted by the clerk with a mandatory $150 deposit because we "prepaid with a third party."
None of the acknowledgements, conformations, communications from the hotel prepared us for this requirement. We had some unexpected expenses and so cash flow was minimal. I was not prepared. I was very upset. Neither of the desk clerks cared about anything but me providing the $150 deposit. It was too late for us to find elsewhere to stay. The clerks looked at me in an unconcerned and blank stare.
The room was okay, except for the corner wall trim... nails snagged and tore clothing. The trim was partially off on the entry to the bathroom; the trim on the left corner entering the room had most of its nails protruding and snagging our clothes
I spoke with another family and they were also hit with the additional deposit and no warning
No coffee pot in the room
No towels in the pool area
Neither of the two clerks told us that we needed to ask for pool towels or coffee pot. All our previous trips at other hotels had this as complimentary ...
When I said something, they replied that I had to ask for towels at the front desk. This should have been part of the initial checking in procedures.
