If you are planning a visit to NYC and just want a nice bed and a shower, the OYO Times Square does very nicely. It is right in the middle of Midtown and within walking distance from many attractions, the Broadway theaters, and subway stations. The rooms are small but the beds were very comfortable and surprisingly quiet; heard the elevator more than the city outside.
I did stay in early October 2024 with the place still under renovation; give it a few months and it should be really nice. The staff is helpful and friendly with a nice, trendy lobby area.
What really makes the place neat is it houses the Serendipity 3 Times Square diner that recently opened with food and deserts that must be shared in groups, but a nice bar as well if you just want a drink, plus it has an Andy Warhol inspired decor. There is also a Dunkin' across the street to grab a little breakfast as well as the Long Acre pub for good food, drink, and several TVs for watching sports.
