The hotel is on the National Register and quite unique. Each room is decorated and furnished with antiques. The rooms were clean, the beds comfy and if you enjoy the old times, you use a real key. Our stay was enjoyable. That being said, we had a couple issues. The major issue was our first room on the third floor was right next to the family of the owner/manager I believe. I could hear everything and it was like being on a plane with children coughing, talking and running around and like they were right next to me. I called and asked for a new room, which we were given. The new room was great, although the jacuzzi tub and shower did not work. Small issue for me because I was able to take a bath. The elevator was not inservice, but we had no problem using the stairs even though we were on the 3 rd floor.
The manager was very nice and made sure we were able to get into our rooms using the key.
We enjoyed the uniqueness but it’s probably not for everyone. We chose this hotel because it was close to the hiking areas we were going to. Not much to do in the town, but that’s not what we were there for.
