Insa-dong's narrow alleys buzz with cultural treasures around every corner. Browse artisan workshops where craftspeople create traditional pottery, hanji paper goods, and calligraphy scrolls. Jogyesa Temple's golden Buddha statues and colorful lanterns provide a peaceful escape, while Ssamziegil's spiral shopping complex houses quirky boutiques and art galleries. Street vendors tempt you with hotteok pancakes and other Korean treats. Tea houses serve omija tea and rice cakes in traditional hanok buildings with wooden facades and curved tile roofs. Most shops open from 10 AM to 8 PM, with the main street becoming wonderfully pedestrian-only on weekends. Nearby Anguk Station connects you to Seoul's excellent subway system when your shopping bags get too heavy to carry.

Gangnam-gu
Heavily concentrated wealth and high-end shopping areas like Apgujeong, COEX Mall, and Garosugil define this district. Explore Bongeun Temple and savor modern Korean cuisine at upscale restaurants near Park Hyatt Hotel.

Itaewon 2-dong
Seoul's Itaewon district serves up a global buffet for your senses with international restaurants, bars, and shops around every corner. Hunt for treasures on Antique Furniture Street or escape the urban buzz with a hike in nearby Namsan Mountain Park. Shilla Stay Seodaemun Seoul Station
"The Shilla Soedaemun is at the highest end of budget and none the worse for that. Breakfast is pretty good with Western and Korean options. Room are a little on the small side but quite serviceable - we found there was ample room for two. The metro station outside gives good access to Seoul’s sights, but the hotel is 20 minutes walk away from Seoul Station and there is no easy metro connection - it took us 55 minutes on the metro, most of which was spent walking from one line to another . The hotel’s “Seoul staton” monicker is very misleading"
Lotte Hotel Seoul
"Great Service!"
HOTEL THE BOTANIK SEWOON MYEONGDONG
"Room was clean and cleaning staffs were very good and friendly. We stayed in delux twin suite. It was spacious. Air conditioning was very good but ac shuts down when you leave the room and it would take a while to cool when we returned to the room. I wish rooms and toilet had actual doors for privacy. Another con was that all the restaurants were pretty much 7+min walk, most around 15min walk. Although on the map stations look very close, Walk to line 2 was about 10 min to platform and line 3 was 3 flights of stairs to platform."
LOTTE CITY HOTEL MYEONGDONG
"Great location, helpful and friendly staff."
Hotel Gracery Seoul
"Excellent hotel in a great location! There are plenty of public transportation options nearby, including an airport limousine bus. The hotel was clean, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A big advantage for me was the coin-operated washing machines. There are lots of cafés and restaurants in the area, yet the hotel itself is in a very quiet and peaceful location. I also loved the little touch of receiving a face mask every morning such a nice surprise! I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend this hotel."
Novotel Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun Hotels & Residences
"We are a family of 4 who spent a week in Seoul, touring the city and its nearby sites. Novotel met all our needs for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The hotel is closed to a subway and a night market around the corner, so it's very convenient to get from one place to another. Breakfast was buffet-style, serving varying Asian/Western options. The soup noodle was my favorite. Thanks Novotel for making our stay in Seoul so enjoyable, will definitely book with you whenever we are back in Seoul."
Toyoko Inn Seoul Gangnam
"Unknown fan noise all night long. I turned off all lights and the fan switch, but it still went on."
Glad Mapo
"I like its restaurant and location"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Seoul
- Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Seoul on a budget is a great value for money, especially during January to March when hotel rates may drop to offer lower prices. For travelers looking to immerse themselves in the city's rich history and culture, including landmarks like castles, museums, temples, monuments, and urban cultural spots, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is ideal. This budget-friendly time frame not only offers affordable accommodations but also plenty of opportunities to explore key historical attractions and enjoy dining and cafe experiences in a vibrant urban setting.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com offers DealsOpens in a new window for Seoul hotels where you may discover discounted rates. If you're planning a quick trip, the Last-Minute Deals section could help you find hotel deals near your travel date. Additionally, with the Smart Shopping tool available via the app, you can compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see the best possible options when it comes to sealing a last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal on your stay in a Seoul hotel. If you're interested in a more unique experience, boutique hotels can provide a personalized touch and sometimes better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is higher or lower than the average. If the price is on the higher end, we can suggest alternative dates that might be more budget-friendly, helping you uncover potential savings.
- Consider your location: Hotels near downtown generally tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Seoul's excellent public transportation, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel further away that’s still well-connected. If you're interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighborhoods or even lesser-known nearby cities, you can often find excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could offer a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
