Be clear about pets
Enjoyed our stay, but a horrible start. Hotel.coms did not tell us that the "Pet friendly" rooms were, well, not. The room we chose, it turns out, does not allow pets, AND, to switch the room over to a pet friendly room, we spent an hour and a half on 5 phone calls to Hotels.com, AND we had to pay $25 extra for the pet, which Hotels.com says nothing about, very dishonest and terrible communication. Aside from a terrible start, the room was nice and mineral baths great (except for strong chlorine smell in the morning).

Horrible Check-In Experience
I surprised my husband for his birthday and booked us a King room with a hot tub this weekend. After checking in at reception we dragged our bags down to room 112 only to find that our key card didn’t work. I stayed behind with our bags while my husband walked up the two flights of stairs and across the property to the reception desk again. Staff told him to pull on the door before trying the key card again. He walked all the way back and the key card still didn’t work. Both of us lugged all our bags back up to reception again and they gave us new key cards. We were excited when they worked (third time’s a charm) but were immediately disappointed to find that housekeeping hadn’t cleaned the room after the previous guests (no bedding, towels on the floor, trash in the bathroom). We walked back to reception (4th time) and they told us it was going to be a while before they could clean our room so we should go do something else for a couple of hours and come back later. So we left the property feeling disregarded and upset. When we checked out the next morning, the staff at the desk said their manager wasn’t on site so we couldn’t share our experience until the manager called us (which she did later that morning). She said she will discount our stay - we really hope that’s true! It was a disappointing birthday - we used to love coming to the Carson Hot Springs!

Relaxing overnight stay
The stay was great. The room was clean and ready. The hot tub was clean and full of relaxing mineral spring water. It was a nice relaxing stay. Only downside was the pillows, should've brought our own. The pillows were very fluffy/full and caused neck issues for both of us. We should've remembered our own pillows. They are working towards getting room service. We enjoyed breakfast at the Elkridge Restaurant, the service was quick and friendly, and the food was delicious.

We were there for several days and none of the days was our rooms checked for new towels or trash removal. Staff not clear that one of the rooms did not have a TV for our older family members, were not able to assist to correct or move my family. Only offered some on property services that were not ones that my parents would utilize.

Did not like the number of stairs to get to our room after walking from inconvenient parking lot. Parking was limited so was on far end because of swimmers to the pool. The hot springs are not accessable so "the therapy pool " with chlorine was the substitute. The fire pit was a nice touch.. other than that wouldnt be a return visit.
