Ideal location, clean , & good service. Ben was very helpful with our tech problems

8/10 Very good

Enjoyable stay for one night in the cosy double. Fine for a night as a solo traveler but a bit too small for much longer. Overall the property is really nice - service a bit patchy at busy times I sensed, but overall friendly and would return

Amazing and energetic staff. The room was absolutely adorable, just what we were hoping for in the English countryside. I would recommend this to absolutely everyone.

Very cute!

Our family stayed here our last night in the UK, and it was a beautiful place to end our trip! The location is perfect for walking around Stow-on-the-Wold, we were able to park behind the Inn, and the food at the restaurant was very good! The rooms are so comfortable and cute. FYI there isn't an elevator, so be prepared!

Fantastic Place to stay

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The staff are amazing from Sarah and Nicky in the restaurant to the lady on reception. Made our stay memorable. The food is outstanding. Rooms are clean and the roll tap bath is fab. Would recommend anyone wanting to stay in Stow-On-The Wold the Sheep IS the place to stay. Will definitely be returning.

Great comfortable stay

The hotel was lovely. The car park out the back was great. Restaurant brilliant, An enjoyable night. Minor negative was the time it took to check in. 20 minutes. Not sure if the lady was learning, but it took longer than other check-ins on our recent travels. Other than that issue. Totally recommend.

8/10 Very good

Jan was wonderful at the Front Desk very helpful. Holly at the restaurant was very friendly and attentive; the rest of the F&B team were very nice. Bathroom door hook needed replacement; extra hooks to hang stuff in is always useful. Some paint chipping off in the shower.
Henrietta, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

The shower didn’t work you had to manually hold it up to use it and the bath panel was broken. The blind was covered in stains. When we told the receptionist about the shower she said “that is unfortunate”

8/10 Very good

Beds and Pillows are fantastic. Staff are great. They even remember my favourite room. There is an issue with being provided milk in the room. Sometimes it has been missing so have to go down to the restaurant night before to get some (they have no fridge in the room so you can’t keep it fresh) and one time they left the have used bottle from the previous guest. It’s the only thing that lets them down

NO air conditioning and it was bloody hot.

Great small hotel

Hotel was perfect and the room was great. Easy to find and located in the center of town. A perfect place to enjoy the English countryside.

Fabulous Summer evening & overnight stay

A fabulous overnight stay. Enjoyed the Summer sunny evening vibes in the lovely beer garden with an excellent pint of Brakspear Gold. Dinner in the restaurant was very good as was breakfast the following morning. Would definitely stay again

4/10 Fair

2/10 Poor

This property was beautiful at the entrance and restaurant. The room was outdated, tiny and one set of outlets. The window needed to remain open due to no air conditioning and the room was loud and stifling. Would not recommend.
Kimberly, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

The hotel was lovely, the staff helpful and the restaurant had excellent food. The only downsides were that it was quite warm with no fan or ac and our daughter’s room was at the very top of some stairs that were daunting.

Lovely.

Delightful property. Comfy, clean room with great shower. Great bar/restaurant with outside patios. Would recommend.

8/10 Very good

We liked the location, lovely decorated room, spacious airy restaurant. We did not like the continuous music in the garden which was quite loud and otherwise would have been very pleasant space.
Martyn, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Good enough

Very nice place, modern room and facilities with a cosy country feel. Unfortunately my room was directly above the restaurant / bar area so was quite noisy. Dinner was excellent, breakfast was over cooked and poor. Staff were all amazing. Bedside tables were a little dusty.

A wonderful place to stay in the Cotswolds

The Sheep is outstanding and Stow-in-the-Wold is a treasure. Staff are friendly and helpful, going above and beyond in providing information for your Cotswolds visit. The entire place - rooms and restaurant - have just been completely refurbished as of 2025. It's simply gorgeous with modern comforts while maintaining the character of its 17th century origin. The restaurant is excellent. Be sure to make dinner reservations as it is very popular with local folks as well as visitors.

The Sheep on Sheep street is a beautiful boutique inn with warm and charm in abundance. We highly recommend to anyone and we would love to return!

Great stay

Staff in the restaurant and bar were exceptional. Room was great #6. However, stairs are narrow and a bit hardy to navigate. Restaurant was exceptional with a variety of selections. Stayed as a base and took day trips around the area. Parking was not good. Too small and very limited. Nearby restaurants were exceptional.
