My family and I reserved two rooms for a two night stay. The outside of the property was nice and clean. The staff at the front desk were nice. We arrived a little after 3:00. Check-in is at 3:00. We were rushed to get to my son’s rehearsal dinner in the next town over so the plan was to unpack after the rehearsal dinner. Upon entering one of the rooms, we found it had not been cleaned. The beds were stripped, it had not been vacuumed, etc. We quickly went downstairs and told the front desk about the issue. His response was “Oh it’s not clean, let me get you another room”. By the time we got the other room and went back upstairs to drop off our items, we were late to the rehearsal dinner. Never apologized and never offered to give us a discount or give us a free room for the night. The beds are extremely high. My mom couldn’t get on the bed so the staff at the front desk brought her some crates to step on so she could get in and out of the bed. I am 5’4” and had trouble getting on the bed myself. There was a hole in the bathroom door where it looked like someone had hit it or ran into it with something. There was also another hole above the bathroom door. On our second night, the smoke detector in the room started beeping at around 10:00 PM. That was a first! This meant the batteries needed to be changed. We were already in bed and exhausted so we just pushed the button to make it stop and went back to sleep.
