Checkin was quick and easy. The lovely gentleman at the concierge was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and bigger than expected.
Stay was comfortable and quiet.
I will definitely stay again when next in Sydney.

Awesome! A perfect stay for us!
The hotel located at good location, about 3 minutes walk to the Metro station (Victoria Cross). The room is spacious, clean, quiet. Smooth check-in, front desk staff super friendly and helpful. I booked with breakfast buffet, good breakfast with variety of choice.

The hotel itself is clean, easy 2 minute walk from the metro station, so very handy. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained.
Unfortunately the bit that let it down was the service at breakfast. I am not blaming staff, but it was most definitely not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. We had to ask for our table.to be cleaned when we sat down, then ask for cutlery. Once we got food, we had to ask for glasses for juice, as none of these thibgs were anywhere to be seen.
The hot water for tea, was luke warm and not topped up for a good 40 minutes after staff were told.
The food was well topped up and the same with pastries, but nothing to eat them with.

Stayed at Rydges for an entire month during a business trip. On the final day, simply requested a couple of extra hours for late checkout.
Despite the hotel clearly not being busy, the request was flatly denied without any considerationโand I was charged $60. After a month-long stay, poor customer service was extremely disappointing. Will never be staying at Rydges again and will be sharing this experience widely with colleagues and friends

BEDS ARE TOO SOFT / PILLOW IS TOO HIGH - the mattress is cheap and soft. The pillows are too high. Resulting in hip low / neck high posture. Asked reception for lower pillow and they donโt have any.
FIRE ALARM WENT OFF 3 TIMES FRIDAY NIGHT - saw this as a concern from someone else. It happened to me during my Thursday to Sunday stay. Awful sleep as a result. My suggestion to Rydges is 1) fix your alarm or 2) put a sign saying A$2000 fine for false alarms to deter hooligans from pulling it.
SERVICE IS HORRIBLE - asked for more hangers. Called twice, no delivery. Went down to reception twice, no delivery. Went down to reception one more time, then they gave it to me. Service staff are new and poorly trained so no clue where the equipment is and how to handle these inquiries.
KITCHEN / ROOM SERVICE FOR FOOD IS GOOD - one saving grace is that the food is good. The staff downstairs at the kitchen are really nice.
OVERALL: I value my sleep so I will never stay here or at any Rydges again.
