Hotel was great in some respects, we got a nice upgrade, the interior was beautiful and the room service was excellent. It has a certain happiness to it with all the wedding receptions going on. The staff is generally excellent, especially the charming doormen who will run out and grab a cab for you.
However, a few matters of concern, one rather serious. One was our first day we had a bad run-in with what appeared to be a homeless person in the ground floor bathroom. That is fine, things happen, we brought it to the attention of security, and they promised to take it seriously, but by the end of our nine day stay we hadn’t heard a word from them about what happened or assurances it wouldn’t happen again, so we avoided the ground floor throughout our stay and limited ourselves to the first floor champagne bar. We also had several staff issues with the bellman, housekeeping and the concierge that we had never experienced in a 5-star hotel before.
