The purpose of my trip was focus on have time with my dad (80) and my son (6). The hotel has a good location considering that is 6 miles away from the closest beach on Carlsbad north side.
My first impression was terrible, I was driving from Las Vegas to California on Saturday at 4am and I received a call around 8am to confirm if I was going to stay on the hotel and I what time?, well room was fully paid and even if I arrived at 10pm my room has to be available for me, but at the they mention me that I can arrived a little early to check in (1pm), so may plan was to go to San Diego first and enjoy the early morning and afternoon at Coronado and downtown. So we did it and when was getting close to 1pm I decide to drive back to Carlsbad and check in, well David told me that my room was not ready and he argument that my rate was the cheapest on on Expedia, I guess he means Hotels.com right and for that reason they was assigning me a handicap room. I always make sure that I never pick a handicap room because I'm not a handicap person and is not a good idea to abuse from the option that other people may need, to the bottom line of the first 10 minutes at the hotel with David (Front Desk agent) was terrible and I have to wait until 3:15pm for my room. almost 2 hours wait on the lobby.
Now the good. Housekeeping, buffet and staff, maintenance team are awesome. rooms are clean but Handicap room is useless for a regular person. Unless you can take a shower in your knees. Not Good
