My priority was free parking when I booked this hotel, and it was written that parking is free. But this hotel has only several parking lot less than 10.
Room was clean and cozy, but i couldn't open the window.
Staff were kind, and the restaurant was good too.

Our first room was very spacious and airy with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was spotless and roomy.
The second room was much smaller and the bed wasn't as comfortable as the first one. It overlooked a noisy passage way where bottles were emptied and people trundled their suitcases.
The hotel in general looked a little tired and in need of an uplift.

While the exterior and staircase are appealing and are what initially drew me to booking a room here for our anniversary trip, there were incredibly loud sleeping conditions, peeling paint and questionable cleanliness of our room. Losing out on a pre-paid room and proximity to the bus and train stations are the only thing that kept us in the hotel for a second night so that we could leave first thing in the morning.

I paid nearly ยฃ300 for a one night stay (more than I usually pay in the City of London) because it is right next door to the railway station and we were catching a train to Edinburgh early the following morning. I checked that it had a lift as we were travelling for 3 weeks hiking and camping as well as visiting cities so would have heavy cases to manoeuvre.
The most positive word I can use to describe the member of staff who checked us in is โdisinterestedโ and It was only when I asked how to find the lift that he said that the lift was broken and that we should use the stairs. No offer of help was made even though my husband and I are obviously older, I had to ask for it. He said he would bring the bags up at some point. As we were leaving our room 30 minutes later we met him on the landing, he just put the bags down where he was, turned around and went back downstairs without a word.
The corridor outside our room was being used as a store for linen bags. When we arrived they were all closed up but by the time we went down for breakfast they had all been opened up for the housekeeping staff to use. The corridor itself was in a very poor state.
The room was clean, but very dated and the paintwork in the bathroom definitely needed some work. Iโm not sure if health & safety law is the same in Scotland as in England but if it is, the bathroom blind in the bathroom is illegal as it doesnโt have a chain safety clip fitted.

We selected this property due to its location to the train station. Close to everything we wanted to see and do. The breakfast was wonderful. We had one dinner at the hotel and it was excellent. I would have rated the entire property excellent except the lift wasnโt working and we climbed a lot of stairs with luggage. Other than that - Iโd stay again

Hall d'entrรฉe avec beaucoup de cachet et de charme mais les chambres sont vraiment vieillotes et le mรฉnage n'est pas nickel, confortables toutefois. Emplacement idรฉal dans le centre ville.

The hotel is very conveniently located right next to the RR station. The room was quite large and comfortable.
The breakfast was not very good so we found restaurants outside (which were nearby).

Stayed for just the one night.
Receptionist very welcoming and polite.
The reception area is very beautiful and tastefully decorated; with plenty of tartan and a sweeping central staircase.
There is also a left luggage facilities for guests which Infound useful in the morning as I wanted to do some exploring before making my way to the airport.
I did not have any food at the hotel choosing instead a local Wetherspoons.
The actual room was well equipped and the bed comfortable. However the fixtures and fittings and decor in the room looked 'tired' and could do with a refresh. Not a complaint just an observation

Due to a problem with the rooms they were unable to fulfil our booking - which we only then discovered on arrival. We were moved to a far inferior hotel with no offer of a refund of the difference. Awful service.

Room smelled of feces. Phone in room was sticky. There was a hole in the floor in the hallway covered by carpet. Stains on floor in bedroom. No air or vent in room or bathroom, had to open window to get air and room was very hot. Staff was helpful when we checked in but desk staff was unfriendly and argumentative when we explained we were checking out due to the very uncomfortable conditions.

This has always been a nice hotel to stay in, very central in Inverness and right alongside the railway station (which is why I use it, as a resident elsewhere in the Highlands). It was grand once, and they are working hard to keep it in good condition, but it has a slightly worn feel, with signs of damp around the shower for example.
However, the bed was comfortable, there was tea and coffee making facilities with complimentary biscuits, and a good quality TV. It was a welcome respite after a long, disrupted rail journey from London!
