Not terrible but not great
No hot water on Sunday. Breakfast was unorganised ran out of cups, glasses, oj. Room was nice but could have been cleaner. Cooked breakfast was good.

The kitchen staff were really excellent, waiters quick and efficient. Something went badly wrong with room maintenance, unlikely to happen again.

Good stay
Great stay, comfy bed and kettle with plenty of tea, milk etc Took a minute or two for someone to appear at the desk to check us in, other than that everything was excellent

Impressive old coaching Inn in a good location. Nice inside with lovely grounds backing on to The River Kennett. Restaurant prices fair and meal quality was good.

6/10 Good

Fire alarm.
My stay was ok, other than the fire alarm going off at 3am. No explanation, no apology. My room was adequate and the fried breakfast was good. Service at breakfast was ok, but as there was only one person covering breakfast, there was no greeting and I was very much left to sort myself out.

Lovely spot just by the river, hotel full of charm, clean comfortable with delicious breakfast.
Chrissy, 1-night trip

It is a very nice historic property with a great location, and not too expensive. I have not used the dining room, just needed a place to overnight within walking distance of station.
Jane, 1-night trip

We always book the superior rooms in the main building . Large comfortable rooms with good facilities

4/10 Fair

Unsatisfactory accommodation
We put 3 sub contractors into your hotel for 2 nights. One bathroom was dirty with mold & “mushroom” growing! One room had food stains on the carpet. General cleanliness & attention to detail very poor. Main parts of hotel & food good!
Mark, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Competitively priced, friendly staff
Convenient, the rooms are quiet, located behind the main building. Easy parking, bar and food across the courtyard.
Laurence, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Great helpful staff. Easy parking. We had room 5 in the original building. There was lots of space and a large bathroom. Great beer garden with good food.
Anthony, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

Good stay, reasonably priced and very convenient for cycling along the canal nearby. They have good bike storage. One small recommendation for improvement; if a curtain could be placed over the entrance to the room, to block out the electric light from the courtyard at night.
Jackie, 1-night trip
