Disappointing stay
We had an unacceptable stay at your property from January 19th to January 20th 2025. We booked your property to celebrate a birthday at a place where there would be a pool and restaurant. The restaurant was closed. The pool closed two hours earlier than listed. The pool water was freezing and un-swimmable, and the jets in the hot tub did not work. There was zero communication and response with the front desk even directly asked questions. The phone in our room didn't work. We did not know there was a free breakfast and were given none of the basic information like the staff usually would do. We did not have enough towels for the number of guests. The room was absolutely frigid when we arrived, and the heat did not work properly - turning off at intervals during night and not regulating at all. The parking lot was not plowed, sanded, or salted, and both my daughter and I fell. The water out of the tub was brown. Well before checkout, staff tried to get into our room without knocking while my daughter was changing and I was in shower. The list goes on and on, but to culminate it all, there was a bug next to my daughter's face when she woke up. I have attached picture. We talked to the front desk, and they did not give us any information to complain directly and said we should include in review. We would expect some kind of compensation for this disastrous stay that ruined the vibe of a small trip that was supposed to be a celebration.

Though we clearly listed 1 adult, 3 children on the reservation and received a rate based on those numbers, the hotel charged an additional fee for 3rd child. Desk attendant said fees were based on 2 adults, 2 children. This makes no sense at all.

The property looks like it used to be really beautiful about 30 years ago, but now it’s run by people that are irresponsible and don’t tend to the property and I’m pretty sure there’s only one maid that cleans the rooms in the entire property. The staff wasn’t that pleasant the breakfast wasn’t that great in the room was filthy as if it was never cleaned from the beginning all of the fixtures on the faucets were rusty and falling apart. The piping under the sinks were rusted and falling apart. The beds were old and stained with some kind sponge.. I should have listened to the other reviews and just paid more to get a better nights sleep. The beds were small definitely not a two person bed. Also, it was more of a room for four than a room for five that we booked and paid for thank God we got in a good price on Expedia, but that hotel should renovate or get some proper owner also the ice machine next to our room didn’t work. The vending machine next to our room didn’t work The staff wouldn’t bring any towels or pillows or blankets to the room. We had five people staying in the room and had three towels. We had no extra blankets. We had only three face cloths. We didn’t have any complementary soap and last, but not least it smelled like mold to the point that we had to leave the back screen door open all night in the screen door is broke anyways

The property had a nice historic atmosphere but is showing it's age. Wall paper peeling, shower faucets leaking and the refrigerator needed an overdue defrosting. Ice machine did not work and you had to travel to the lobby for a small bag of ice. The staff was efficient, very friendly and they answered your needs. Comfortable beds and the room was quiet even though fully booked. No handicapped parking spots by the building we stayed in and no curb ramps for wheel chair access. Super location.

We had a beautiful room that shows its age, but was clean and practical. The property is aging and some of the vinyl siding needs pressure washing. It is getting nasty looking.However, the staff was pleasant and it was a quiet stay. The pool was cold, but clean. Hot tub and Sauna worked well.With some upgrades, the property would be absolutely awesome.
