Probably last time in Carthage
I have stayed multiple times at this property. The first time I enjoyed it, the last time it was a bit more trying. Possibly because I was a very late arrival. But three things concerned me; they have almost doubled the pet fee - on their form it said $25, they charged $40, The room carpet was in terrible condition and one thing about “fees?!”

My worst hotel experience ever
Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in 45 years! I reserved a room with 2 queen beds and when I arrived was told there were none available, my mom would be spending 1 night with us so we needed the extra bed. They rushed to “clean” a room for us at 11pm. I’ve attached a picture of the mirror in our room that was disgusting. We had no blankets on our beds, when we asked for them we were told there was a shortage of blankets and we had to go to our car and get our own blankets that we use for traveling. Our room smelled like cigarettes the entire 5 days. The room next to us # 251 was adjoined to ours, those people fought and cussed every night. I also suspect that’s where the cigarette smoke came from. When I complained twice, the only resolution offered was for us to switch rooms. On our second morning we tried to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast but there was none “due to a medical emergency” the next morning the biscuits and sausage were burnt almost black. The entire place smelled like chlorine from the pool and the glass door at the entrance was shattered. The employees all look very trashy and unprofessional and they do not care and act like the guests are a bother. We asked multiple times for tp and clean towels and didn’t get them until I finally had to go and stand at the desk until somebody literally handed them to me. Very poor service and dirty hotel, the owners should be ashamed.

Horrible Stay
We were staying for a friends wedding for the weekend to say this hotel was awful is an understatement the smells of weed in the hall when this hotel is supposed to be non smoking, black mold on the air vent which triggered both myself and my wife's allergies. The phone was not connected to the wall so you cannot contact front desk if you needed something and when I went up to the front desk it felt like as a guest i was being a bother to them over simple requests i even got an eyeroll from the employee because i disrupted there dinner. If your looking for somewhere to stay, stay somewhere else.

Don’t go! Window in room leaked when it rained. Curtains were frayed. Carpet badly stained. No blanket in room. Coffee maker broken. No shampoo. Front desk staff not helpful at all, especially the fat guy. Glass in front entrance door was broken. No breakfast on Sat or Sun mornings. Vending machine empty. This place is a dump!

The ac needed to be cleaned because it was blowing out dust and I have bad allergies. When I check out the guy said I never check in but then how did I already have a room card. The person that check me in quited that night and mess up stuff in the System I heard . Guy ask me to let y’all know he show me there and to let y’all know about the ac unit. How can I give y’all the right type of feed back when I cannot give you name of the person that help me and knows I was there.

The price was fair. Apparently the bill for cable was not paid so no one had TV. REALLY?? We were told we could not check in so we changed for wedding in the bathroom. Then we were told we could check in. One of our room keys didn't work (no big). We did not stay for breakfast.

Our air conditioning unit sounded like a jackhammer and the tv didn’t work, not to mention the 3 trips back to the front desk before we were able to get a room key to work. At 4pm, we asked for a different room and were informed that one wouldn’t be available until 8pm. We then asked for a refund so that we could find a different hotel. We were told that because of the way we made our reservation, (we used Expedia), that we were unable to cancel our reservation. We left the hotel to shop and have dinner since because of the noise of the air conditioner we were unable to stay in the room. When we returned at 7:45pm we were given a different room, but not with 2 queen sized beds, we got 1 king sized. At least the tv and air conditioning were working properly. The clerk was very nice but the 4 hour wait for a useable room was unacceptable. I will NEVER stay at this facility again. It was dumpy and severely need some updating.

We had to change rooms because the first room had no TV. When we reported they said they didn't know the room didn't have a TV because they are screwed down. When we moved to the second room there was no toliet paper. When we went to get ice there was only one ice machine working and it was on the second floor, we were on the first floor. The ice bucket fell apart when we used it. The toilet was hard to flush and kept running on. The continental breakfast was always empty. We had to ask to have more food put on it everyday we stayed. There was only one person trying to make the food and keep it full which they should of had a least two people working it. There was white powder that came out of the bed when we sat on it.

A 7th year guest and won’t make it an 8th.
Where do I begin? I tried to check in early. No big deal that we couldn’t, but was given the reason that none of the rooms were clean….at 2:30pm. Ok. Went back a good 30-45 minutes after the check in time of 4pm, was told all the rooms were still dirty. The desk clerk had to go check each room to make sure it was clean before she could check someone in. Ok. But then she tried to give us a king for 4 people instead of two queens. She did fix that, after going to check yet another room (we were on a time crunch with activities we were doing). The room wasn’t terrible. The hallway (paint splotches and carpet with lumps in it) and the foyer (cracked door glass) was in terrible shape. Our friends had different rooms with conditions that weren’t great (missing a phone cord, no mirror, wanted 2 queens and got a king with a pullout that didn’t work). Then breakfast, at 7:30 they were out of biscuits and gravy and basically told tough luck. Our room key wouldn’t work multiple times. We joked that it was good for one use only. There were old room keys still on the counter when we were checking in and they were still there when we checked out in the morning. At checkout, I almost lost what little breakfast I had due to the fact that the clerk was chewing chaw and had a clear bottle he was spitting it in sitting next to him. He never once stood up to greet us. Therefore you had to look down at the check at the chaw spit! I can go on, but I am out of the allowed characters

Do not stay here. We reserved ahead of time, but when we got there around 10 pm, we were told there were no clean rooms available. And that their cleaning staff had left early today. They said it would be 30 minutes to get our room ready. After an hour of waiting, 6 other people were also waiting for a room. Then another guy walks in and they gave him a room quickly. We didn’t get our room until midnight. Then the key they gave didn’t work so we had to go back to the front desk again. The office was very dysfunctional. The room wasn’t great. TV didn’t work, when we told the front desk, they said it’s because the owner probably didn’t pay the bill. Walls had mismatched paint. Breakfast was not good. There were lots of missing things. No spoons for cereal, no fruit, waffle batter dispenser was broken, cereal was stale, juice machine wasn’t working properly. When we asked for things, we were told, “don’t speak English” then when we asked in Spanish, we were given the run around, but nothing was brought. It took 20-30 minutes just to try to check out. Receptionist was walking around in socks. Workers complained about the owners for everything. Worst experience.
