Terrible Honeymoon at Hawaiian Village
Our 3-night honeymoon at Hawaiian Village was ruined by a workers' strike and poor management. We upgraded to a $300/night corner room, expecting luxury. Instead, we got a nightmare.
A hotel workers' strike started on day 2, disrupting everything. The hotel's communication was non-existent. Major issues:
1. Valet: Service disappeared. Spent 30+ minutes locating our car ourselves, made us late for plans.
2. Housekeeping: No room cleaning for 3 nights.
3. Front Desk: Unresponsive, no help during chaos.
4. Noise: Protests 6 AM to 10 PM daily, couldn't rest.
5. Value: Paid premium, got terrible service.
We were charged full price, upgrade and resort fees included, for practically no service. Management didn't handle the strike well or compensate guests. No effort to help or offer alternatives.
The gap between expectations and reality was huge. We missed out on luxury and basic comfort. The hotel's lack of planning and guest care during this crisis is alarming.
Avoid this hotel, especially for special occasions. Our honeymoon is now a bad memory. No excuse justifies how we were treated. This stay was a total letdown. I regret choosing Hawaiian Village and advise others to book elsewhere. Don't let your special moments be ruined like ours.
