Did not communicate about hotel amenities missing
The room itself was clean and as advertised. Unfortunately there were a lot of issues.
1. We booked this hotel partially because there was a restaurant on site. We arrived at 7 pm and the restaurant was closing due to snow, no advance warning, no additional options for dinner recommended.
2. Cable had been out in the entire building for several days and would not be fixed until the following Monday. Again, no heads up, not mentioned at check-in, no alternative entertainment options offered.
3. The pool was open- a small win! We were told at check-in just come to the front desk when you want to be let in. So we went down in our bathing suits and then were told no towels left for the pool, we’d have to use the bath towels from our room, so had to walk back to the room, key card didn’t work, walk back to the front desk, back to the room, back to the pool. We were not offered fresh towels for showers after, just had to retain and then reuse our pool towels.
4. The black out curtains were not wide enough to close and left a 3 foot wide gap, so that anyone walking by our first floor window could look right inside at us changing. We used a chip clip we had brought along to close them- so it was possible, just not engineered in a way to let guests easily get full privacy.
