"Check-in was quick and easy, and the reception staff were efficient, professional, and polite throughout our stay. We enquired about a paid room upgrade on arrival, but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked. We also discovered that the basin taps in our bathroom were not functioning correctly. To their credit, the staff immediately offered to move us to another room the following day and handled the change efficiently and without any fuss. Thank you to the team for resolving the issue so promptly.
If you are considering staying here, my advice is simple: book one of the rooms overlooking the central courtyard garden. It is well worth the additional cost. We were travelling as a group of four and the other couple in our party stayed in an Executive Double overlooking the garden, while we stayed in a Superior Double. To be honest, we were a little jealous! The garden views are beautiful, the setting is peaceful, and the rooms feel that much more special.
The beds were extremely comfortable, and the room sizes were generous by European city standards. While the hotel is undoubtedly showing its age and could benefit from some refurbishment, this did not detract from our stay at all. In many ways, the hotel’s character, charm, and nostalgic atmosphere are part of its appeal. It feels like stepping back into a more elegant era of travel.
The standout feature, however, is the location. It is 10/10"
