Say no to an annex room!
We were booked into an annex room that had no elevator access. Due to a leg injury, though I can walk (slower than I used to and with a slight limp), stairs are not an option and the room was on the 2nd floor. We tried to ask for a room swap with someone that hadn't yet checked in, but was told 'no'. They had to change our reservation to the hotel across the street, The Belvada. The staff and room at The Belvada were fantastic! This is the third year in a row that I've booked The Mizpah, but the first year we've ever had issues getting the room.

Because of a heat problem in the Mizpah Hotel we were transferred to the Belvada. The Belvada was very nice, roomy, and comfortable.

Great history and pet friendly.
It was fairly quiet and nice. There was a ghost tour offered. I wanted to do my own self-guided walkthrough, and staff seemed fine with that. There are plenty of plaques and framed essays explaining the history of the hotel. I did not know any of the history before booking my stay; however, it was a nice surprise. The bartender was very sweet and the check-in staff were great with accommodation. Next time I come through this area, I'll be sure to bring my furbaby as this establishment is SUPER pet friendly.

We loved the Mizpah! The staff was amazing and so friendly. Our first room had a very noisy fan and they immediately switched us to a different room that was wonderful. The hotel very beautiful with original decor. We were also able to take our dog to the bar where we able to enjoy a meal with her there. We will definitely stay there again.

Wonderful old hotel! Aldi’s was friendly and very caring. Joe the chef came out to check on our satisfaction and lingered to chat. Great hospitality.

The staff at front desk (Heidi I believe) was rude and not helpful. When I asked about parking, elevator, etc - she acted as if I bothering her and interrupting her day. The bartender and the tour guide (Jessica - I believe) were amazing and fantastic in answering my questions!

2/10 Poor

Over charged couldn’t shower not ADA accessible
Shower did not work at all, clearly a leak from the floor above as there was a bubble in the ceiling above the shower. Unable to take a bath or shower. Told the gal at the front desk she said she would make a note for maintenance. Not ADA friendly at all. Ramps to steep. Food in cafe disgusting. But the waitress was excellent. She was the only decent thing about the whole place.

Nicely fixed up vintage hotel. Still smells a bit old, but not bad just like Grandmas house. Great to have creamer for the in-room coffee, was curious why there were no hand towels or washcloths in the bathroom. Friendly staff, one of the nicer hotels in town.

Stories of ghosts!
Although we did not experience any the staff was ready to tell us about the ghost sitings. Accomodating when reservation through a third party was incorrect with a rollaway and extra linens

A fun weekend adventure
We wanted to stay at Mizpah Hotel due to its notoriety as America's "most haunted" hotel! The "ghost tour" was cheesy; should focus more on actual history with a few spooky stories to punctuate it rather than playing with dowsing rods, repurposed stud finders and calling out to "spirits" in the dark basement. No "actual" supernatural encounters on our trip (hahaha). We loved the antique charm of the place. Staff and service was great. Not much in the way of amenities, but wasn't expecting much from such an aged place. Food was pretty good, even though Dempsey's overcooked our filets. Lady In Red Zinfandel is a good wine choice for dinner. Couldn't believe the lobby bar closed at 9pm! Overall, a fun weekend adventure ahead of the Halloween season.
